Benefits & Aspects of Counselling

One of the most important aspects of counselling is the counsellors ability to use our listening skills, rather like to walk into another’s shoes without the complexities of their life.

The therapist will be actively listening to the individuals inner world to interpret what the they mean through their own lens.

Overall, rather than viewing individuals as inherently flawed, with problematic behaviours and thoughts that require treatment, person centred therapy identifies that each individual has the capacity and desire for personal growth and change.

Every client a counsellor works with will have a different background and experience therefore, being flexible means I can adapt and change to meet your needs.

Furthermore,  Personal growth and development may eliminate or mitigate feelings of distress, may also increase self esteem and openness to experience are some of the goals that could be achieved within the therapeutic relationship.

Being mindful is a way of being able to remain calm and live in the moment without being pulled into the past or pushed into the future.

It can help you live in the here and now, which can be very beneficial especially if you feel ungrounded or out of balance. Mindfulness is a life long practice and can benefit us in so many ways.
